Bulgaria Wins Eurovision 2026 With Dara’s “Bangaranga” in Historic Victory

Bulgaria has won the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 for the first time in the country’s history, as pop star Dara secured a commanding victory with her song “Bangaranga,” earning a total of 516 points in the grand final held in Vienna, Austria.
The energetic performance blended modern electronic pop with traditional Bulgarian folklore influences, particularly inspired by the country’s ancient kukeri rituals. Dara’s powerful stage presence, dramatic choreography and crowd-friendly chorus quickly made “Bangaranga” one of the standout entries of this year’s competition.
According to Eurovision results, Bulgaria dominated both the jury vote and public televote. The song received 204 points from professional juries and an impressive 312 points from viewers across Europe and participating countries, making it the highest televote score of the night.
Israel finished in second place with 343 points, while Romania secured third place with 296 points. Australia and Italy completed the top five.
This year’s Eurovision marked the contest’s 70th anniversary and attracted worldwide attention not only for the music, but also for several political controversies surrounding the participation of Israel amid the ongoing Gaza conflict. Reports said several countries, including Ireland, Spain and Iceland, boycotted the event in protest.
Dara, whose full name is Darina Yotova, is already a well-known figure in Bulgaria’s music industry. Before Eurovision, she gained popularity through multiple chart-topping singles and television appearances.
“Bangaranga” was selected through Bulgaria’s national selection process earlier this year before going on to become one of the contest favorites.
Eurovision fans online described Bulgaria’s victory as one of the most dominant wins in recent contest history, with many praising the originality and energy of the performance.
Discussions across fan communities highlighted the unusually large winning margin between Bulgaria and the runner-up entry.
