Uber Eats Launches, Delivery Robots in Finland

HELSINKI – Uber Eats is bringing delivery robots to Finland. The service will start on Thursday, August 27, in central Helsinki. Finland is the first country in the European Union where Uber Eats uses robots for food delivery.
How It Works
The robots are made by a company called Coco Robotics. They move on wheels and will deliver food orders in the city center. Customers can track their orders in real-time through the Uber Eats app. The robots will work alongside regular human couriers.
Big Expansion in Finland
Uber Eats started in Finland in May 2026 in Helsinki, Espoo, and Tampere. This week, the company is expanding to eight more cities: Vantaa, Kuopio, Turku, Oulu, Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Lahti, and Lappeenranta. This means Uber Eats will now serve 11 Finnish cities.
Why Now?
The food delivery market in Finland has changed this year. Another company, Foodora, left Finland in February. Foodora said it could not compete with Wolt, which has most of the Finnish market. Uber Eats is now filling that gap.
The robot deliveries start in Helsinki first. If successful, they may expand to other cities in the future.
